Hemlock Woolly Adelgid Managementtoms tower

The non-native hemlock woolly adelgid (HWA) has wrought havoc on both urban and wild stands of eastern and Carolina hemlock. No trees are immune, and infestations are fatal if left untreated. Fortunately, there are cost effective management options available to save your trees. If you have hemlocks- you will have to spend money. It is far less costly to save your trees than to remove them!

Appalachian Arborists has been at the forefront of managing this pest and has participated in every possible working group and roundtable discussion concerning the management of HWA. We have presented our field experience to property owners and land managers on many occasions to further the general knowledge of the impacts and implications of this pest.
